The Dominican family
The Dominican family
We Dominicans form a family of communities dedicated to “holy preaching”.
Our family began in the year 1206 when Saint Dominic founded the first monastery of Dominican nuns.
At the beginning of the new millennium, we form a diverse family, scattered throughout the world, where women and men, laity and clergy, can be united to collaborate in the evangelical mission, belonging to communities where they are equal, respectful of differences, but united by faith.
